Yesterday I psyched myself up for 14 miles. At least the weather was good enough that I could run outside. Got my playlist ready. Put on my good socks. Made some Gatorade. It was go time.
My program is designed that you advance a mile or two every week for 3 weeks and then it jumps back to let you recover…and I love it. So on a whim, I checked my training program and I was only scheduled for ten miles!
Then I realized that I juxtaposed the words ‘only’ and ‘ten’ and it was in that precise moment that I realized I am training for a marathon. Now mind you, I’m still a little sore from 10, but I can deal!
But next week…15 miles. To quote Finding Nemo, “Good feeling gone.” I hope the weather cooperates!
